The Department of Agriculture honored the colleague, friend and former Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Anastasios Tsinas, one year after his departure
“It was a cloudy day
A funeral march crept through the drizzle.
How does a man die? Strange no one thought about it.
And those who did think about it were like a memory from long ago.
And yet death is something that happens; how does a man die?
And yet one earns his death, his own death, which belongs to no one else.”
And Tasos the Chinaman earned it by his life and how it touched others.
With a simple ceremony theDepartment of Agriculture honored Professor and friend Anastasios Tsinas and dedicated the Department’s Auditorium A to his memory, because Tasos was A in everything.
We are grateful for the honor of the Rector Mrs.Batistatou, the Deans Mr.Tzamtzis, Mr.Avgeropoulos, Mr.Tzallas, Mrs.Theodosiou, the Department Chairs Mr.Alexakis, Mr.Mantzoukas, the members of the Administrative Council Mr. Karamanis and Mrs. Plakitsi, Father Agathaggelos, the Vice-Regional Governor Mrs. Simou, the Mayor Mr. Siafakas, the former Rector Mr. Albanis with his greeting, the fellow traveler in the administration with Tasos Mr. Glavas, as many colleagues who were counted with the memory and contacted with warm words, and countless friends from the academic community, colleagues, administrators, EDP, ETEP, students, who all today walk on the road paved by Tasos to a large extent.
The memory of the sower for the future of the Department of Agriculture
Tasos’ famous blend for those who have tasted it always leaves a taste of optimism, creativity and that the impossible is only what you don’t believe. Our memory will always accompany him, as will Chrysoula’s words in another farewell speech where nothing fell except tears!
